Cells usually proliferate in a dividing fashion. cytotoxic is a simple cell killing event caused by cells or chemicals, which is not dependent on apoptosis or necrosis.

LDH (lactate dehydrogenase) is abundant in the cytoplasm and can not pass through the cell membrane normally. When cells are injured or die, it can be released to the outside of the cell. The released LDH is in the culture medium supernatant and can be detected by enzymatic reaction.
